Now in its seventh year: another brilliant week of musical activities at Withington Girls' School for all young people aged 8-18. On the Music Course(26th-30th July) you sing, dance, drum, play in bands and orchestras, make up your own music, make new friends and meet up with some old ones.In a separate stand-alone Film Course (21st-23rd July) you can star in four movies, create one of your own, create and record soundscapes and effects to go with it. Then come to the music course the following week and compose the soundtrack.

DALCROZE EURHYTHMICS Musical expression, phrasing, structure, improvisation and more;you learn all this through movement and physical activities with Bethan James.
GROUP X COURSE create your own music and perform in a week (for 14 - 18 year olds). Arun Ghosh helps you form a band from scratch, devise, create and write
 


Summer Film & Production Course

Wednesday 21st July - Friday 23rd July 2010 • 9.30am - 4.30pm

Make, star in and add sound effects to your own movie on this three-day add-on course, then come to our main Summer Music Course the following week and make the musicalsoundtrack with award-winning composer Andrew Smith.

 

We welcome back, by popular demand, actor-director Russ Armstrong and cameraman/editor Pieter Westerhof to lead you through a busy three-day film shoot at Withington Girls’ School. You will also help to create and record special effects and soundscapes to include in the final movie soundtrack with Tim Chatterton.
