The aim of these four workshops with Isabel Dibden Wright is for you to see the creative potential of your sewing machine, enabling you to use a range of exciting stitch methods. you will create a library of samples that you can then use in future projects. Even a basic sewing machine has tremendous potential!There will be demonstrations, followed by time for you to learn the methods to experiment with and develop at home. Some of the techniques to be covered will be: appliqué, cutwork, decorative facings, free machine embroidery methods, layering, tucks, pulled work, using shirring elastic. Maggie Holland will take you through the process of paper making to produce exquisite paper art. You will make decorative papers which you can use in your projects for embroidery, pictures, collage, crafts and book making. Explore this wonderful craft using a lovely variety of materials.

Introduction to Felt Making Sunday 11th March 2012, 10.30-1.30, £26.00.
 
You will learn how to incorporate materials, threads and net into your felt to create a textured finished picture. You will also have the chance to experiment with colours and shapes. A wide range of the best quality merino coloured fleece, pre-felt, fabrics, feathers and yarn will be available for you to use during the workshop. Natural Dyeing

The aim of this workshop is to inspire confidence for those new to natural dyeing and to share information with those already familiar with the processes.You will learn techniques of natural dying using berries and kitchen waste and we will use mordants to extend the variety of colours. Patchwork Quilting 4 sessions Mondays next date to be arranged 7-9pm, £64.

Experienced and talented tutor Lisa will introduce you to quilting techniques such as Suffolk Puffs, Cathedral window, log cabin and traditional pieced patchwork. Do bring along your own fabrics, ribbons, buttons and threads too so that your patchwork will be more personal to you. The more materials you bring the better, but materials and equipment are provided as are threads, fabric scraps, buttons and ribbons. Refreshments and cake are provided.

Nuno Scarf Sunday 10th June 10.30-2.30, £32.

Learn the technique of felting the fleece into fabric. Using the cotton fabric provided and the finest quality merino fleece you will design and make a scarf. This is a fantastic method which you can use to great effect to create an incredible texture and unusual fabric. Bring a packed lunch.
