Carol is particularly interested in inventing new and exciting felt that utilises the unique qualities of wool. Each piece is individually made with particular attention to detail so that you can be sure that your handcrafted item is unique.
She is a highly skilled textile artist making and selling hand made one-off products to commission.

Basket weaving Wed 3rd, 10th, 24th February and 3rd March 2010

We shall start by cutting, folding and preparing the strips to weave. The first week you will need painting overalls as we shall be splashing paint around to decorate the corrugated card. You will be shown step by step how to weave together a corrugated cardboard basket and a square newspaper basket. You will be shown how to finish the edges and how to add threads and beads.

Creative felt picture making

You will learn how to incorporate materials, threads and net into your felt to create a textured finished picture. You will also have the chance to experiment with colours and shapes. Paper making with Maggie Holland 27th March 10.30-1.30 £23.00
Maggie is inspired by Japanese paper making techniques and will take you through the process of paper making to produce exquisite paper art. You will make decorative papers which you can use in your projects for embroidery, pictures, collage, crafts and book making. Explore this wonderful craft using a lovely variety of materials. Maggie works with paper and fabric to create fibre art works inspired by Japanese paper.
