Busy Bee is the country's first toy shop co-operative. The closure of the earlier Busy Bee Toys due to the retirement of the original owner inspired parents to keep a local independent toy shop. Now, over one hundred members from Chorlton and further afield have clubbed together to form a co-operative to start up the much-loved shop.
The co-operative builds on Chorlton's community spirit. It enables local residents to take positive action in the economic downturn and use their skills to the benefit of the wider community.
